Chief Adrian Day was sworn in as the Tooele City Chief of Police on July 7, 2021.
The Tooele City Police Department Administration team works hand in hand with the other divisions of the police department to keep things running safely and smoothly. Animal Control/Ordinance Enforcement
The purpose of the Animal Control/Ordinance Compliance division is to achieve code compliance so that the citizens of Tooele may enjoy a cleaner, safer, and better place to work, live, and recreate. Our mission is to work with the community to resolve issues that impact the quality of life and the well-being of people living and working in Tooele. Our goal is to enforce policies and regulations that promote strong, vibrant neighborhoods and communities and to encourage the positive and orderly growth and development of the City. The Ordinance Compliance Officer is charged with addressing complaints and issues regarding improvement of neighborhoods, integrity of property values, and enforcement of ordinances to avoid unsightly or dangerous situations on private properties.

Citizen involvement is essential to combat crime. You and your neighbors are the ones who really know what is going on in your community and by cooperating with each other and the police, people can help fight crime in the most effective way-before it begins!
Neighborhood Watch is a crime prevention program which enlists the active participation of citizens in cooperation with law enforcement to reduce crime and fear of crime in communities. It involves neighbors getting to know each other and working together. It also involves citizens being trained to recognize and report suspicious activities in their neighborhoods and learning and implementing crime prevention techniques.

Fingerprinting
Available on Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. and Thursdays from 12:00 noon - 2:00 p.m. There is NO CHARGE for Tooele City residents and a $5 per card fee for residents living outside of the City.

There are three types of police records: private, controlled, and protected. Any person can make a public records request, which means a record that is not private, controlled, or protected and is prepared, owned, received, or retained by the governmental entity.

Traffic Safety
Crossing guards are hired on an as needed basis, usually at the beginning of the school year, which is in August. Most elementary schools have crossing guards as part of their school safety plans, so the crossing guards follow the schedule of each individual elementary school.
