     Tooele City understands the important role businesses play in creating a healthy and robust local economy. The City also plays an important role in promoting and cultivating an attractive business environment.      Tooele has initiated a full service development counter. The development counter is a one-stop-shop for developers, businesses, residents and property owners in need of permits and entitlements for routine items such as installing a water heater to more complicated projects such as new office buildings or housing developments.
     Tooele strives to make the City a first-rate place to live, work and do business. In order to achieve this goal, Tooele has implemented a RDA/Economic Development Department focusing on attracting new business as well as working with existing business to encourage their expansion and retention.      Tooele City has three redevelopment areas located in and around Tooele’s central business district. The Tooele Redevelopment Agency was formed 1989 to alleviate blight and revitalize downtown Tooele. It accomplishes this by reinvesting in the project area and converting aging housing and outdated retail/commercial properties into highly desirable projects such as office buildings, residential developments and retail destinations.
