LifeSkills Training (LST) is a research-based substance abuse prevention program proven to reduce the risks of alcohol, tobacco, drug abuse, and violence. Life Skills targets the major social and psychological factors that promote the initiation of substance use and other risky behaviors. This comprehensive program provides adolescents and young teens with the important skills and confidence to successfully handle challenging situations.
With collaboration and support of the Tooele County School District, Life Skills Training is taught to all 7th-9th graders within the district. Currently we reach approximately 3,000 students per year. Students receive Life Skills Training in required core curriculum classes as follows: 7th Grade Science, 8th Grade Health, and 9th Grade Geography. |

“I wish I could have been taught the Life Skills series when I was in Junior High School! The lessons teach adolescents how to behave in the “real world” so that they can better their chances of success. The lessons are simple, straightforward, and immediately applicable. I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to guide our youth in the right direction and help them through the confusing time of adolescence. This program has 100% of my support. “ |
