Domestic Violence what is it?A pattern of physical, sexual and/or psychological violence which is meant to control another person. These behaviors are used against an intimate partner who must not only deal with injury and fear of their batterer, but also must deal with the complexities of an intimate relationship with that person. Domestic violence is a pervasive problem in virtually all countries, cultures, classes and income groups. It is a complex and multifaceted problem with individual solutions that are appropriate for different women in different socio-cultural contexts. Other terms used to describe domestic violence include
domestic abuse, spouse abuse, courtship violence, battering,
